2017 is off to a great start, but we’re already counting down the days to spring in Sissinghurst. We can’t wait for the excitement of lambing, the first crop of asparagus, the splendour of bluebells, or a slice of pizza on the terrace. These treats are all in store in time for the Easter holidays, but until then, we’re keeping busy, and planning lots of exciting things to distract us from the grey skies and icy mornings:
One of the best things about cold weather is hearty food. We hope you’ll take comfort in our midwinter menus packed with warming flavours to suit the season. On our Dining Menu you’ll find mustard-brushed pork fillet with sweet potato mash and duck confit with orange scented lentils and caramelised chicory. Meanwhile our puds include a tempting orange and almond treacle pudding and an indulgent After Eight crème brûlée.Fancy a dirty burger, a crispy piece of cod or some juicy bangers? In the bar area, we’ve got all appetites covered because our Classic Menu is now available all day, every day from 12–9pm.
We’re laying on a six-course feast of love in our Dining Room this Valentine’s Day packed with indulgent delights. Celebrate the special date early on Saturday 11 February, or join us on Tuesday 14 February for Valentine’s evening when it’s about more than just the food of love… We’ve got the music too, harpist Tamara Young will joining us to perform her own arrangements of your favourite love songs.
If you’re really in the mood for love, why not take advantage of our off season room rates by booking a romantic night away?
Banish winter blues with live local music at The Milk House every Wednesday from 7pm. We’ll be pulling the pints while you catch up with friends and neighbours – and if you fancy some sustenance to complement the conversation, we’ll have our bar menus available until 9pm.
