It’s our favourite time of year again, as we’re gearing up for the most spectacular summer festival this side of Glastonbury over the Bank Holiday weekend! From Friday 23 August to Monday 26 August, our award-winning pub will once again open its doors for four days of Milk-tastic music and menus, alongside unmissable entertainment for the whole family.
You name it, we’ve got it this year: cocktails, pizzas, live bands, barbecues, beers, ciders, silent discos, children’s activities, and no end of entertainment to suit all ages! So, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls – step right up, come one, come all, and join us as we bring you the Greatest Show you’ll ever see in Sissinghurst, or anywhere else…
Fabulous food and drink
Friday 23 August – Tunes & Tails
Milk Fest is the perfect excuse to eat, drink, be merry, and get in the festival mood! On Friday, we’ll be serving a selection of pizzas, together with some of our celebratory cocktails; there’s the Dairy Cow, Angry Ox, Big Buffalo and Happy Piggy, with skinny fries and garlic flatbreads available too. Team one of these pizzas up with a Pornstar Martini, Espresso Martini or Mojito – we’ve got a one-night-only Milk Fest marvel – or enjoy any pizza and mojito for just £14 between 3pm and 10pm on Friday night!
Saturday 24 August – TMH Greatest Show
Indulge in some smoky treats on the grill from Saturday to Monday. Our barbecue will be fired up on the terrace, serving our TMH BBQ burger with Kentish cheddar, BBQ Park Farm hot dog with onion jam, jambalaya chargrilled chicken thighs with baby leaves, and harissa mayo, citrus and dill marinated BBQ salmon skewers and halloumi steaks with three-cabbage slaw, along with plenty of scrumptious salads and sides. Our Milk House marvel on Saturday celebrates our family day – with two Big Moo and two Baby Moo barbecues for just £30.
Sunday 25 August – All About the Apples
Come on down to the Apple-licious Cider Bar on Sunday, and taste some of the best tipples in Kent from Kentish Pip, Kent Cider, Brogdale Craft Cider, and Beard Spoon. Try a selection of them all with our taster board, and make the most of our cider, salad and home-cooked local pulled pork bap. There’s another Milk House marvel on Sunday – for only £10, your choice of cider with a pulled pork bap & a variety of different apple sauces to choose from – what’s not to marvel at?
All weekend
To celebrate our Greatest Show yet, we’ve collaborated with Kent Brewery to create a 3.9% ABV Festiv-ale IPA! At a cheap and beer-ful £3.50 per pint, a tipple or two of this bespoke Kentish pale ale, crafted just for us, is sure to go down an absolute treat.
That’s entertainment!
Friday 23 August – Tunes & Tails
We’ve got a stellar line-up of live acts taking to the Milk Fest stage over the weekend, kicking off with acoustic singer-songwriter Nick Eve on Friday at 4.45pm, followed by popular local bands The Gallerys at 6.15pm, and headliners The Half Light at 8pm.
Saturday 24 August – TMH The Greatest Show
More memorable music starts at 1pm on Saturday with Max Walker, who shares the bill with Fred Clark, Elo, The Ninety Nines, Logan Wilson and The Devil’s Cut Combo, seeing out day two at 8pm – afterwards, grab your headphones for our inaugural SILENT DISCO from 10pm ‘til late! For the kids, there’s a bouncy castle and face-painting from 1-5pm, while our circus workshop has everything from juggling to hooping, plate-spinning to stilts, and diablo to bubble-blowing; the talented youngsters will then perform all the spectacular skills they’ve learnt at TMH Greatest Show from 4.30-4.45pm.
Sunday 25 August – All About the Apples
In addition to our pork and apple bonanza on Sunday, six powerhouse performers will be playing from 1pm, leading in with Harry Miles Watson, ahead of Frankie Swain, More Than Echoes, Thomas Ashby and Django Rhinestone, all headlined by The Powers at 8pm!
Monday 26 August – Monday Madness
On the final day, we’re spinning our Wheel of Fortune hourly, to decide what will be on offer! Try your luck for exciting offers, including a free shot with every pint, doubles for singles, free kids’ pizza, £1 pints and 50p Mr Whippys. Elsewhere, see out the festivities in musical style from 1pm with some real belters from Gez Gold, Niamh McConachue Smith, Kitty Montague and Budgie and the Smugglers. And to top it off in between, our Monday Milk House marvel – join us on the stage for your chance to sing your heart out at our Open Mic Hour from 5-6pm…
