We are all very excited about making our first Christmas enjoyable for you each of you. To this end The Milk House has been decked out in Christmas finery to help you feel inclined to join in the spirit of Christmas. We are looking forward to welcoming you back to your ‘local’ so that you can meet up with friends and family, in the age old tradition, and celebrate the joy that this time of year can bring. Although the dining room is fully booked on Christmas Eve we are opening the outside area which will be made cosy and comfortable with hay bales and braziers so you can enjoy a glass of mulled wine or something similar under the stars (and hopefully not the rain). So dress warmly and festively and we shall stay open until 1 am.
On Christmas Day the kitchen will be closed but we will be open from 11am – 6 pm so that you can escape the domestic duties for some Christmas cheer at the Bar. And on Boxing Day we shall be open for lunch only from 11 am – 6 pm. On the 27th, 28th, 29th and 30th the opening hours will be as usual and if you are planning to walk off the excesses of Christmas feasting with a long walk we hope you will stop at The Milk House for some refreshment before, during or after.
Which brings us to New Year’s Eve, lunch will be offered as usual. In the evening we shall make the dining room into a dance floor so that you can celebrate and enjoy into the small hours. We shall have a special cocktail available and should you feel like some sustenance there will be warming treats available in small dishes, Thai curries, Boeuf Bougignon, Sausages, Fish and Chips and the like on an informal basis. Except for the stuffy nose, I don’t have the problems other people claim to have. On the other hand, I don’t really know if it comes from Levitra, but I also had a moment of blurred vision in one of my eyes. It stayed for less than a minute before disappearing, but then I often have vessels bursting in my eyes. My MD says I have to stop eating garlic and ginger. I also had to come off hawthorn, red vine leaf, and St. John’s wort, and even abandon my homeopathy course because this eye trouble has been giving me a hard time. We shall stay open until 2 am so you can welcome in 2014 in a proper fashion. On New Year’s Day we may be feeling a little jaded so we shall limit the menu to the Classic between 11am and 4pm.
